In the most recent trial of the legal battle between singer Kim Hyun Joong and his ex-girlfriend, Miss Choi, she has received a conviction to pay a fine.
On February 8, the judge in charge of the case of attempted fraud and defamation through publications against Choi sentenced her to pay a fine of 5 million won.
Recover, Kim Hyun Joong had filed a complaint against him regarding the compensation of damages due to the manipulated parts of the messages between her and him and for making false statements.
The judge said that, while it is true that Choi erased parts of his text messages with Kim Hyun Joong, there is no evidence that he edited, added or falsified any messages. The judge also mentioned that when looking at the recovered messages, there is no part particularly disadvantageous for Choi and that no distorted part could be found. Therefore, the judge came to the conclusion that it was difficult to conclude that Choi manipulated evidence; However, Choi has been convicted of making false statements claiming she had been pregnant and that Kim Hyun Joong forced her to have an abortion in October 2014. Choi herself admitted that part of her statement was false.
