The opening ceremony of the first Olympic Games in South Korea in 30 years took place on the night of February 9 at the Olympic Stadium in PyeongChang. As is tradition, athletes from each country entered the stadium in a parade of nations. The excitement of all was reflected in the party atmosphere, which was also complemented by bright colorful lights and a soundtrack of songs with cheerful dances.
The background music of the parade of nations included remixes of Korean classical songs, as well as K-Pop songs like "Gangnam Style" by PSY, "Likey" by TWICE, "Fantastic Baby" by BIGBANG, "DNA" by BTS and " Red Flavor "by Red Velvet.
When athletes from North Korea and South Korea joined together, the background music was the traditional folk theme of "Arirang."
During the opening ceremony, Jeon In Kwon of Deulgukhwa, Lee Eun Mi, Ha Hyun Woo of Guckkasten and Ahn Ji Young of Bolbbalgan4 performed the song "Imagine" by John Lennon together.
