Will YG have another survival program to debut a group of girls?



Previously there had been news that YG Entertainment wanted to debut a new group of girls totally different from BLACKPINK later this year, but on September 19 a news outlet published that YG was planning the launch of a survival program for choose the members of the next female group of the company.

To these rumors YG Entertainment gave an official statement saying:

"The program is simply one of the many options we are considering. We do not have much information to give yet. "

According to the information, the director Go Ik Jo, who recently transferred to YG Entertainment, will be in charge of the new program. He has participated in Mnet's "Show Me The Money" and "High School Rapper."

However, on September 20 it was reported that YG is actually preparing a group of kids through a survival program in November and it would be broadcast exclusively through Naver TV.

YG gave an official statement saying: "It's been three years since iKON debut, so a rookie group is expected to emerge from YG."

He also said that Bang Ye Dam and Choi Resung, who gained popularity through the SBS auditions program, "K-pop Star" and other apprentices scheduled for the idol group of the next generation of YG would appear on the show. Apprentices from other agencies in Korea, along with foreign apprentices chosen from Japan and other areas, would also participate in the competition.

Recall that YG has debuted groups with this method as: In 2006, the company debuted to BIGBANG through the program "Real Documentary BIGBANG" and in 2013, WINNER debuted through the program "WIN: Who Is Next". Two years later, iKON also made its debut in 2015 through "Mix & Match".
