Since his departure from JYP Entertainment Jeon Somi has given fans to think about the future of her career as an artist and this week rumors were born that Somi would be signing a contract with a subsidiary agency of YG Entertainment.
Sports Chosun published on September 23 that Jeon Somi would have signed a contract with The Black Label which is a subsidiary agency of YG Entertainment led by Teddy, to work with artists such as Zion.T and rapper and producer Kush.
When the agency was contacted to confirm the news, a source simply said: "We are currently checking the facts."
However, the agency confirmed the news this September 24 saying:
"We have signed an exclusive contract with Jeon Somi who has proven her talents as an artist and her infinite potential. Through various tests and activities we will support her wholeheartedly so that she becomes a world-class artist. "
It was also mentioned that it is likely that Somi debuts as a solo artist instead of as a member of a female group in order to make her debut quickly.
Remember that Jeon Somi appeared in "Sixteen" and "Produce 101", where she achieved the No. 1 in the final and debuted with the project group I.O.I.
Since then I work in individual activities under JYP Entertainment, until in August that ended her contract.
